Linda Linda LindaFrom the age of 5 years old, Linda Blair had to learn to accept the spotlight, first as child models and later as an actress, when from a pool of over 600 candidates, she was chosen to play the part in the role of Regan, the possessed child who was on the screen in The Exorcist (1973). Linda rapidly gained world fame and won the Golden Globe, and seemed to be set to take her first Academy Award for that role however, when the film's leaks revealed that certain parts of the role weren't done by Linda Blair (the evil voice was created by Mercedes McCambridge, and eight seconds from a stunt dummy used) the dream was shattered and, with it, most likely was the beginning of the end to what looked like the start of a successful career. It was her turn to get lead roles for a variety of films, like Born Innocent (#1 TV film in 1974) as well as Sarah T. - Portrait of A Teenage Alcoholic(1975) in addition to an Exorcist II sequel Exorcist II : The Heretic. After she snagged cocaine due to influence from her friends at the age of 18 years old, this resulted in the arrest of her and three years of probation. Linda was blocked by Hollywood after the highly-publicized drug bust. Her career soon became limited to B movies and guest TV appearances.
