The achievements of Maureen FitzSimons when she was a teenager in America (which we call Maureen O'Hara today) would certainly put her in the child-prodigy class. This was a natural trait to a person born in Ireland. by talented parents as well as a loving and supportive family. Maureen was born in this cosy sanctuary on August 17th, 1920. She was raised by her parents as well as family members. Marguerita FitzSimons was a talented contralto. Her father, Charles FitzSimons, managed a business in Dublin as well as owned a part of the famous Irish soccer club "The Shamrock Rovers." Maureen FitzSimons was the child of Charles FitzSimons. Peggy, Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons completed this lovely family. Maureen loved playing rough sports when she was an infant and was extremely adept at them. Her talent for performing was the perfect match for her love of sports. She was the recipient of nearly every Feis awards for her native nation's theatre and drama was a testament to this. At age 14, she had been admitted into the Abbey Theater, where her dream was to pursue operatic singing and classical theater.
